Our client is a leading global supplier of airframe and engine structures, landing gear, electrical interconnection systems, transparencies, and aftermarket services, they are currently looking to add a Commercial Director to their team.
As the Commercial Director you will play a crucial role in driving their commercial success with their largest customer. Overseeing all aspects of a company’s contract negotiations, obligations and implementation with their customer. The role includes negotiating contracts, advising management and supervising the implementation of contracts for optimal efficiency.
You will act as a partner to the leadership team globally. You will be responsible for developing and executing effective commercial and contract strategies, maximizing revenue, and identifying commercial and contract opportunities. Your leadership skills and strategic mind-set will be instrumental in fostering strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
You will be the functional lead for a team of commercial professionals within the programmes organization and focus on developing their skills and building a robust commercial function.
You will be the commercial and contract matter expert in the team, enabling their Programme Directors and Managers to navigate commercial issues and acting as a point of escalation for more strategic, complex and contract matters.
Job Responsibilities
Develop and implement commercial and contract strategies to drive profitability.
Contract matter expert from understanding, guidance to management and maintenance of contracts
Support the Customer & Technology Strategy Director commercially with new business opportunities, including partnerships, collaborations, and market expansion.
Matrix manager to a high-performing commercial team, providing guidance, coaching, development and support.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers.
Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to identify potential risks and opportunities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless coordination and execution of commercial initiatives.
Prepare and present financial reports, forecasts, and budgets to senior management.
Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
Job Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, or a related field preferred
Demonstrable experience in a senior commercial leadership role within the aerospace or manufacturing industry.
In-depth knowledge of the aerospace market, industry trends, and customer requirements.
Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills.
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful commercial strategies.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
Proficiency in financial analysis and budgeting.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment – able to take a strategic view whilst also understanding the detail
