Are you passionate about empowering others through creativity and skill-building? We’re looking for a dedicated and dynamic Haven Workshop Facilitator to lead programs in upcycling, arts & crafts, weaving, sewing, and dyeing within a safe and supportive workshop environment.

In this rewarding role, you’ll work with prisoners who may be retired, neurodivergent, or facing challenges such as mental health issues or mobility limitations. You’ll guide up to 18 learners, fostering an inclusive space where they can build valuable skills, produce upcycled furniture, clothing, and handmade items for charity, and develop a sense of purpose.

What You’ll Do:

Workshop Induction and Training: Introduce new learners to the workshop, providing comprehensive training in Health & Safety, stock control, and tool and machinery usage.
Tailor Learning Experiences: Assess and adapt training to meet each individual’s needs, ensuring an accessible and encouraging learning environment.
Production and Quality Control: Set work schedules, maintain quality standards, and support learners in achieving production goals.
Motivate and Supervise: Guide prisoners through regular performance appraisals, using restorative practices to encourage personal growth, responsibility, and positive relationships.
Health, Safety, and Security: Perform health and safety checks, secure materials, and ensure all tools align with security standards.
Administrative Support: Track attendance, manage wages, and complete reports that contribute to each learner’s progress and accountability.
Collaboration and Employability Skills: Work with Work & Skills Coaches to support the completion of Employability Passports, encourage literacy and reading for pleasure, and prepare learners for meaningful employment post-release.
What We’re Looking For:

Experience in recycling or production work in a supervisory role.
Strong organisational skills and familiarity with Health & Safety practices.
Compassion and resilience to foster a rehabilitative work environment.
Experience within a custodial or rehabilitative setting is a plus.
If you’re ready to make a difference by supporting skill development and rehabilitation, we want to hear from you!
